Rightly or wrongly (I fear the later) I recorded last weekend's European GP onto my HDD using WinFast TV 2000 XP.
The settings I used were MPEG-2, 384 x 288, 6000Kbs, 25fps
When I try to run TMPGEnc DVD Author, I get a message that the video resolution of 384 x 288 cannot be used for a standard DVD.
Of the four PAL resolutions recommended by TMPGEnc, only 2 are available on my tuner card - 352 x 288 and 720 x 576
Is it possible for me to convert my recorded file to one acceptable to TMPGEnc or do I have to alter my WinFast settings and record from the VHS tape which I also recorded?
Any assistance (slaps across the head with a wet trout) will be very much appreciated.

You're missing 352*576 in your tuner card - but that might be a restriction in the software used, not the card itself. Try alternatives.
As for your capture, there's nothing left to do but to resize and reencode to VCD res (352*288), then author as DVD.

You can try to patch the resolution with DVDPatcher (this was the name I think), but after the file is accepted in TMPGAuthor you should repatch it back otherwise the AR will be skrewed. Though your player must be checked for ability to play such non-standard DVD. The other workaround may be to use another authoring application.
