I hope someone is willing to help me- I am currently downloading a file that is in mpg format that I will need to convert to avi so that I can use my Nero to burn it to VCD. Could someone please tell me how I find out what MPG format it is in and what is the easiest way to convert it to avi?? Thanks
*nevermind, I found this link someone posted, http://www.vcdhelp.com/burnmpg.htm so hopefully this will work

VCD requires MPEG. No need to convert it unless it has an odd framesize (then you probably have to add borders), odd package size (de-/ remultiplex) or low quality at all ( garbage).
Use the bitrate viewer to see which MPEG format (and other properties) you got.
