    Sony Vaio X505

Hmm... I would have to say if I ever get a new PC notebook it would have to be this one.

though, one thing still amazes me.... do people still use those "eraser" tip mouses above the B button?

i find them more accurate and precise than touchpads, but to ONLY have an eraserhead, no way. i like most IBMs because they feature both and eraserhead and a touchpad.

    Yea i agree
however, I do like the way it looks but it would seem that the reason it is so small is there is no trackpad, that and other things

    still, pretty cool

  4. I agree, it looks very nice, but only for short usage times. Probably not good for your wrists either.

I wish I could convince myself to shell out more money on a laptop. I love the Vaios, they've always been stylin little lappers. They also tend to have onboard FireWire which is very handy for me and my loads of 1394 devices. The onboard wireless is getting more common which is great. But I really only need it for tuning my car's engine computer (Haltech E6K programmable engine management) so it doesn't need to be fancy.

As for the small keyboard I'm all for it as long as I have a mouse or something. I've become quite adept at typing with one hand on small keyboards. I was up to about 25wpm one-handed on a Dell Latitude. I used one all through college for aviation stuff and used the moving map GPS function a lot with the flight planning software so since there was no room to set it on my lap I entered data with my right hand (all this during stops on the ground of course ). I bet if I got back at it I could top 40wpm on a laptop this small. Now imagine being able to type one-handed that fast while simultaneously using a mouse, you could be pretty productive.
