  1. Judging by my specifications, what do you think an average encoding time would be? ...and, should leave HT on or turn it off?
    Hawaii, Art Institute, Women?? lol

    What do you use to encode? If it's TMPGEnc, you should get close to real-time. or maybe 1 to 1.5 (3 hours to convert 2 hours, more for 2-pass).

  3. Thanks, do you have any settings in TMPGEnc that you recommend and what about Hyper-Threading?

    Heh! Wish that mouseover would stay up longer so I can actually read most of it. You don't specifically mention what you're converting from/to, though. This forum is 'DVD to (S)VCD, AVI' - quite different conversion processes and no-one can give an informed estimate without further information. You do, however, have good system specs.

    On. Unless you have some particular (unlikely) reason to not do so. You don't mention that you do use TMPGEnc but you ask about settings.

    Option -> Environmental setting -> CPU -> Use multi-thread.

    With HT, of course, you would be using 2 and that should already be there.
