  1. I have a video file named abc.mpeg or abc.mpg. Its size is 2 MB. I want to reduce its file size to minimum by compressing it, for sending it by email. What to do?

If it's that small don't even bother compressing it. Split it in two parts with WinRAR and e-mail each piece seperately. It can be joined on the receiving end.

There's a freeware program called HJ Split that can do the same thing. Run a Google search for it.

  4. How, if I do not want to split. Do I need to convert it in a DivX or anyother format?

Divx is one option, yes. Expect to lose quality when re-encoding.

but if you plan on emailing to lots of people then they would need the divx codec on their machines to watch it. use windows movie maker to convert to crappy small emailable video files.
