Plays only previews, cant get to main movie

i used dvd decrypter, dvdshrink and roxio to rip 2 movies, made more than one copy useing differant tools. ALL dvds play fine on the pc w/ windvd. on my Initial portible dvd only plays the previews or FBI warnings (depends on the movie) till i see \ROOT on the screen then it loops again, it never shows me the main menu. on my AKAI large DVD player nothing loads and i get a "DISK ERROR" . 3 diff rip methods but same results depending on whats playing the dvd. can anyone point me in a direction to proceed? Thanks

could be a media or player problem. check the dvd player lists and media lists on the left.

Not sure but I found from some DVD's if you burn and leave off some of the subtitles, the looping can happen. On certain DVD's, esp the ones in North America that has French and English sub's (exp: DVD Underworld), the various disclaimers and warnings are part of the subs and need to be copied as well else the disclaimer/warning can loop looking for the other part on stand alone players even tho they may play on PC software players.
