I have a NEC 1300a with firmware 1.05. I read somewhere that to flash to one of herrie's firmwares you have to have firmware 1.06-1.08, is this true? If it is can I just flash the drive to one of these then to herries firmware? Also on his site www.herrie.org he has a choice of modified offical firmware which has the "dvd-read speed limit removed", will this make my ripping speed faster? or do I have to get a hacked firmware to do that? right now the ripping speed starts at 2x then slowly goes up and tops out at 4x. Any info on herries firmware would be a lot of help. Thanks
