  1. hello there,
I need some advise on the following issue: I made back-up copies of my LOTR movies with Nero 6 (the latest version). The work fine on my computer but on my standalone Hitachi P415U it skips. Initially I thought it's my player so I cleaned the lens. But the I realized if I put the originals they work fine. Is it the media that I'm using ( Princo)? I even tried to burn 4x disks at 2x with same results. The bottom line is should I go for a most expensive media? By looking at what other people are saying about Princo this seams to be a good quality media. What should I do.

    Thanks.

Sometimes you can do everything right and it may just be that your player doesn't like that particular brand of disc. You could try your disc in a different player or try a different make of disc for your player.

  3. thank for you reply. You know, it might be cheaper on the long term shot to by a $50 DVD player from Wal-Mart instead of buying more expensive DVDs. I noticed those no name DVDs that play everything.

  4. princo dye dvd-rs are only really ok for data, there shite for video, especially a 3 hour movie.
go with ritek or tayo yuden(quite expensive).
the ritek G04 dvd-rs are very good, and ive never had a problem on any dvd player with them skipping, but the princo were just such a problem.
and you can pick the riteks up for a very good price nowadays.
tayo yuden are probably THE best, but the price reflects the quality.
as for princos problem, its cheap dye,and not spread properly over the dvd, also probably not spread good enough, thin in some parts, thick in others.they seem to be fine up to the 3gig mark, but anyhting over is probably gonna skip.
its not your player....its the media.

**oh,and try using a programme like copytodvd for burning movies,it does a better job than nero.**

Absolutely , if you can it's worth having one of the 'el cheapo' players jsut because of that reason.
