  1. Hi. I try to make DVD from cca 60 videos (mpeg2, 352x288, cca 4 minutes each, made in TMPGEnc). First I tried to join all these files, for possibility to make chapters and use next/prev button to browse between videos. I used Ulead Media Studio Pro (Video Editor). I supports smart rendering - only files with different parameters are converted. First I added a 3 second silent black pause to each file for better chapeter accuracy and then joined them. When authoring, there's big problem with sound sychronization since 2nd video). It doesn't matter which authoring program I use (Ulead DVD Workshop, Ulead DVD MovieFactory, DVDLab, ...). So I gave up this solution and treated each video as one title. The next/prev button don't work in software players but luckily work in my standalone Samsung player. Still one problem remains. One video was out of sync from the start. So I shifted sound track in Video editor. The result (mpeg2 file) played well in sw players (PowerDVD, BSPlayer with Elecard codec, ...). But after authoring (DVD Workshop), the sound is shifted back to former state. I don't know what to think about it. It seems to me, that everything which was edited in Media Studio Pro's Video Editor(especially by smart render technology) has sync problems when authored. Any comments will be welcomed. Thanks.

  2. Perhaps I am missing something here, but if you are adding 3 seconds to the beginning of all your video clips, then surely you also need to add 3 seconds to the beginning of all your audio clips in order for them to remain in synch with each other..?

    Arky ;o)

  3. No , again: First I was joining all videos to one huge mpeg2 file (cca 4.5 GB). The file was played ok, but when authored, I couldn't set chapter points correctly. I'm not sure if the sync problem was already there. So I added at every source video END three second black pause. Then again these files were joined together. The result , when played was ok too. When authored, the chapter points were placed into that black pauses. Few miliseconds of innccuracy didn't matter. But after authoring, the synch problem appeared starting with second video (first was ok) and cumulating with elapsed time. As if the black pauses caused problems. If so, why the whole file seemed ok before authoring.

  4. .. and one addition. When joing video with black pause, I set in Media Studio Pro's output dialog 'audio and video', so I suppose the silence is encoded into file. Maybe there could be problem that it is not...
