    Trying to load an mpeg, I got this message: MPEG Import Filter: pack synchronization error

    Can anyone help?

    PS I've done a search of the site and this question has been asked a few times and no-one seems to be able to help but hey ho...

    This usually means that you have a bad mpeg. It's mpeg-1, right? Otherwise try Virtualdub MPEG2.
