Hello everybody.
Firstly congrats on a great site and apologies if this topic may be at all familiar (I have looked as I know how annoying these newbies can be). And now on to the scrounging...........
Basically I'm looking for any kind of software that will allow me to edit AVI or MPeg fully (ie with titles, graphics, fade-ins etc) which will output to a VCD with the quality that I have received from using Virtual Dub and TMPGenc (with unedited VCR converts). I got some with my TV card (Pinnacle Systems TV PC)
but the output is horrendous. I also bought some, but that was nowhere near either. I'm not looking for DVD quality by any means, and I'm quite prepared to pay for it, but I'd like an honest opinion from one of the experts here before shelling out again. Is it possible with my Celeron 400, 160 MB RAM Machine, or am I hopelessly deluded?
Any answer will be appreciated, and feel free to diss my setup
Thanks chaps and chapesses.
Jayce
p.s. Seeing as I'm really being optimistic here, there's no software that will allow my PC to act as a VCR, turning itself on and off at an allotted time and recording digitally from my TV card, is there? Oh well!

Fist try MovieXone from AIST.com, mainly cause it's free. Unfortunately if you don't like that it's either Ulead Movie Studio or Adobe Premiere (the big boy). Both cost big bucks, though sometimes Ulead (old version) is given away on coverdisks. Get the demo of premiere to see what you think first.

Thanks Shabubu.
Just one more question if it's OK. What size is the exe file? I started the download and got to about 3 Meg before deciding to go to bed!
As I'm on a 56K modem, would it be better to download fom work?
Thanks in advance
Jayce
