Problem converting movie with AC3 sound

I have a TV-rip that has AC3 sound(dolby). Now when i try to convert it to mp3 sound(so i can shrink the file down) all the music comes out fine byt the dialogue is way too low. now i've tried to max out the gains of the center channel(dialogue) but it still sounds the same(dialoue too low). any help?

not quite sure why you are converting to mp3 in the first place, but you could convert the ac3 audio to wave and edit it using goldwave.
once you're done adjusting the volume, you can convert it back to ac3.
