  1. is it a bad idea to use other applications while tmpgenc such as internet explorer?? obviously, it will take tmpgenc longer to run, but will it lower the quality of the output?

    it won't lower the quality, but unless you have fairly powerful system, its best to just leave it when TMPGEnc is running, as it could cause your system to freeze when running to many apps.

    Depending on your CPU, I find that if the other applications aren't too intense then there's no problems. Surfing isn't a problem. You can set the CPU task priority for TMPGEnc under the environmental options.

  4. I see no reason to not use the pc as normal while encoding. With CCE i start with /LOW priority, doesnt even notice it is running. With tmpegenc you dont have to do even that much, it defaults to Low priority when inactive. Grimey is talking about unstable systems, some of those can fail even if left alone while encoding.
