  1. Ok i keep getting a message saying kernel32.dll has caused an error and now my windows does not work properly my windows media player and stuff like that wont work so i thought the way to solve the problem is to reinstall windows but i not sure how to do it so can sum1 please tell me step by step on what to do and after it has reinstalled will all my files still be on the computer or will i lose them?

    I am using windows me and wanna reinstall windows me over it.

    Dont take this personal...but dump ME and get XP. It will walk you through the upgrade on it as well

  3. I will probable end up getting XP in the future but 4 now i just want my pc working with ME on it.

    Not that familiar with ME, but I would put the ME disc into your CD drive and see what options it gives you. You may be able to repair the existing install instead of reinstalling. Generally you won't loose your files, but you will have to reinstall all your programs. Back up your files if you can first, though. You can also go to the Microsoft site and find more information. The other method is to boot from the install CD by changing your BIOS settings to make your CD drive the first boot drive.
