I read a post in the forum on how to rip a menu from a DVD using DVD decrypter by ripping the VTS_01_0.VOB. Problem is, I'm trying to rip the sub menu only not the main menu. when I use the method described above, both menu's are linked. Is there a way to just rip the sub menu? Or do I have to use an editor to seperate the sub-menu from the main menu? BTW, both menu's are motion with audio.

    thanks,
    Chach

  2. you know in all of my years of doing this, i have never come across a way/program that would just let you rip a sub menu (do you mean sub-picture). I always wondered about that. On some occasions, when i made a backup dvd i would see the really cool buttons they made and i would have liked to just rip that sub-picture so i can use it with my re-authored disc.

Just where do they go if you just rip a menu vob from a dvd?

Actually, I'm talking about the menu itself, except not the main menu but the 2nd or 3rd menu....example, if you start a dvd and the menu comes up and theres a link to go to "scenes" then that takes you to the 2nd menu. That 2nd menu is what I'm talking about. If you pull the menu VOB it just gives you all of the menus rolled into one. i'm looking for a way to pull specific menus by them selves.

Getting the menu buttons like you suggested would also be good, but i don't know how to do that either.

  4. how about then getting an editor (like womble mpeg2vcr) . Open up that vob file in it and set edit points (markin/out) to just save that menu. Once it's done you would just have a video clip of the menu you wanted
