Sorry I can't help you out as far as your mac goes. Never had one. But for the rest of the posters in this thread. I'd take a mac any day over a PC for video editing and DVD authoring/burning. It'll spank a PC hands down!
Hell I've even condidered getting one for the sole purpose of video capturing/editing, and burning.

  6. You know, there IS a Mac video forum. If you post your question there you may get, *ahem*, more mature responses.

And also, please take the anti-American bullshit with you.

    solution
    change rippers

DVDBackup is anchient and is not reliable on panther

    MacTheRipper is the best now.

Rip over using this, ensure the VIDEO_TS folder plays in your Apple DVD Player - just for the fun of it to ensure it works

Shink it down to 4.4 gigs using dvd2one or dvdremaster. You may have to reinstall these since the 10.3 system architecture is totally differnet than 10.2.

Once this is done and you now have a 4.4 gig VIDEO_TS folder again reverify it plays by opening it in apple dvd player.

if this is the case, use toast 6 to burn in the DATA/DVDROM UDF mode and you should be good to go.

Again if you have problems hopefully viewing the movie inbewteen each step will help you isolate the problem area

let me know if you have any more trouble

These apps run natively in 10.3 so ensure you have them all updated and if you have any problems still, just reinstall to ensure they are in line with the new architecture of the OS

I love my PC and all, but ever since I purchased a Powerbook last month, I have never looked back. The operating system and the architecture of it is just simply amazing. I admit I used to be one of thise Apple haters and bashers, but last fall they opened up an Apple store in my city and I actually had a chance to play with their systems and get questions answered from their techs. Ever since then, I've never looked back.

    hey....I resemble that remark!!!!!!

Yes, I can vouch for the Master Galactica's words..I just moved to 10.3.4,
and I had a few hiccups ( running Toast 6.03 instead of 6.05, DVD2OneX 1.21 instead of 1.3) but once I made sure EVERYTHING ws upgraded, ran fsck -y, then Macaroni to clear system cache and run daily crons,
    all has been smooth sailing.

You may also need to run PatchBurn II...I lost my support driver
for my Samsung CD-RW, but PatchBurn II helped to get it back.
It also fixes non Apple ( READ: SUPERDRIVE) DVD Burners also...
