  5. Well, giving a step by step instruction of how to make a RealMedia file into a DVD disk is being unrealistic. Maybe if you ask a step by step for some smaller task that has you stumped. To get you started, here is a guide to use EO Video.

    https://www.videohelp.com/sefy/?id=encoding13.html

    Overview of process:
    1) use EO video (plus any others you like) to make the .rm file into a DVD compliant .mpg
    2) use that .mpg file in your favorite DVD authoring software to author the DVD.
    3) burn the authored DVD files to a disk

  7. Without knowing the speed of your computer, the settings you are using, or anything about the video, I can't really say if that is long. However I have had encodes take around 10 hours, yes.

I would suggest, if the movie is at all available, buy it. Real Video files are absolute shit. I have yet to see one that even matches VCD.

I agree. Pretty silly because you can actually get decent quality with real media by using higher bitrates. I did some experimenting with Canopus Procoder and discovered this.

  10. Wait a minute. He posted "my realplayer AVI files". Are they AVI files or realmedia(.rm,.ram,.ra)? If its just an AVI, use TMPG, yeah it takes a while especially when encoded to dvd-mpeg2. If its really a realmedia file, screw it.
Real media looks TERRIBLE converted into anything else.
