I use DVDDecriptor to rip my DVDs. But the process takes a long time. Usually the DVD is at no more than 2X. I have a Sony DRU510A which can read at 12X (or 16X no sure). I also tried to use SmartRipper but it also rips at no more than 2X. How can I increase the ripping speed to maximum?
Thanks.

Sony has a utility for the DRU510a to increase ripping speed. It's called DSS (Drive Speed Selector) and you can get it from Sony at:
http://sony.storagesupport.com/legalagreement.zulu?dlid=dvdrw/downloads/dss10/DSS101.zipThey that give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty or safety.
