Help please on joining mpegs, divx, rm etc together

Hi and thanks in advance,
I have different mpegs and avi's , and id like to burn them on a dvd or vcd, but i dont know how to join two together to make one new mpeg, is there software available etc , and does it work for all videos formats, i.e mpg, mpeg, avi, rm, divx, rm etc,
some newsgroups also post files in "rar" format i presume these are video files , and need to be joined together in order to view them, am i righ or wrong , any help wud b great ! thanks all, who read this

You should really spend some time reading the guides on this site. All the info you seek is there.

RAR's are not video files, but rather split archives. They could have anything inside of them, not just video. You need to get all of the split parts and extract with WinRAR.
