Hiya,
I've been trying to resolve a frame drop issue with capturing on my PC (with an Avermedia EZMaker PCI), and I've found it to be the on-board soundcard (It's an MCP Soundstorm on the ABit AN7).
I've put in a Soundblaster Live! Platinum, which was an old card lying around, but I'm finding that it is also affecting the capture to a lesser degree (unsure whether this is from them both being PCI). It uses proccy power when the pc is idle.
What I would like to know is what's my best bet for resolving this issue? Presumably a better soundcard would be the way to go. But is there one which is PCI and capture friendly at an affordable price? I would need optical in/out and preferably dolby surround out.
TIA![]()
