  1. We must convert the .avi files to .mpeg with the resolution
that is acceptable to the programs as DVD-Sizes, I used TMPGEng DVD
Author before DVD-Lab and i received an error message that showing the
    exact resolutions for Standard DVDs:

The video resolution of 480x576 cannot be used for the standart DVD.

Use one of the standard DVD resolutions:
    NTSC : 352x240 352x480 704x480 720x480
    PAL : 352x288 352x576 704x576 720x576.

And then I converted a .avi to .mpeg using the those
resolutions, but the image would not be the same... and it wasn't.
I tried again but this time using the same size and with the "Accept
non-DVD Sizes" option enabled, a warning message appeared:

This is a non-DVD size used for DVD
Not all DVD players will be able to play it
For best compatibility use only DVD frame sizes

I would like to know if there is anyway (without burning a DVD and then try it)
to know if the disc will Play on a Standalone DVD Player.

    I would appreciate some help.

  2. What is your location? The .avi file you have is in PAL and will definitely need to be resized if you live in North America.

If you're not in North America: 480x576 is not a valid DVD resolution. However, it IS a valid SVCD resolution. You can make an SVCD out of it using TMPGEnc's SVCD template.

If you don't want to make an SVCD, you'll have to resize. Use whichever valid DVD resolution that's best suitable for you.
