  1. ive been having a strange problem authouring dolby digital dvds ever since i formated and reinstalled windows

if i extract the AC3 from the AVI using virtudubmod then i play this file using powerDVD the audio plays fine and tells me that it is dolby digital 5.1

however when i authour this to a DVD allong with the M2V file then the DVD does not play any audio but tells me that it is Dolby digital 2.0

anyone know whats wrong here or if im missing a codec or somehting, im using DVDlab to authour DVDs and tmpgenc+ to create the m2v files, ive got ACEmcp codec pack installed, this usually covers everything i need, but for some reason this aint workin this time round

    cheers

use ac3fix on the file -- it ussually fixs the problem you are talking about

  5. I've had issues where AC3 streams encoded using FFMPEGs AC3 codec would be randomly incompatable. So ACM playback of the streams, like in AVI or just playing the AC3 stream all by itself were fine, but muxing it for use in any DVD Software/Player it'd just be silence. Weather the encoded stream would playback for DVD would be a random chance, will AC3 fix correct those streams too?

It'd be nice, I had actually given up on AC3 and decided to use Mpeg audio instead. XD
