  2. try buying quality media next time. 100-pak of ProDisc DVD-R at rima.com and supermediastore.com is $44 (plus tax and or shipping). I have a 1300 too and they burn, test, play fine. BTW what is the brand name of your dvdrs, and more importantly what is its media ID?

I don't think they make DVDRs in Spain. Probably packaged there. Check the media code with DVDInfoPro. Then check the NEC compatiblity list. Upgrade to latest firmware. And if all else fails, sell the discs on eBay at a dime a coaster.

Your disc does not seem to have a media code. This reflects pretty badly on them since this means they are super-generic, not even crappy Princo or CMC. Either that or there is something wrong with how your drive reads the media code on any DVD+R. If I were you, I would try out a few other brands of DVD+Rs and see if they work. Get a couple of good discs like ones with "Ricohjpn" media code and see if your drive recognizes and writes well on those. If it works with other media, I would just get rid of these "Shadow" discs, they sound like crappy media.
