  1. Im converting an XviD with ac3 file, from avi, to mpeg in order to burn as VCD, i have no problems except that when i finish the audio and video dont sinc up, i am lead to believe there are a couple of bad frames cos ac3 tool finds 2 errors when converting, however when checking for bad frames Virtual Dub-mp3 says there are none. Is there anything i can do, or could there be a different problem

I normally just delete these kinds of files. They're more trouble then they're worth.

You could try running it through DivFix and set it to cut out any bad parts, but I doubt that will solve the problem.

Another thing you could look into is checking if the wav file you made(at least I think you made a wav) and the video lengths match. You can usually stretch or shrink the audio to match the video length. Goldwave is a good tool for that.

Try getting audio to sync up like I suggested. Open the mpeg file you created(the one with bad sync) with Virtualdub, go to File>File Information and take note of the length. Then open the wav file you made with Goldwave, go to Effect>Time Warp and plug in the video length. Wait for the effect to be processed and then save as wav. Convert the wav to mp2(224kbps, 44100hz) with FFMPEGgui, then open TMPGEnc and go to File>MPEG Tools>Simple Multiplex. Select the bad sync mpeg as the video source and the newly created mp2 as the audio source and click run. Hopefully the new mpeg will be in sync. I can't make any promises.
