  1. Hey, guys and gals; if I have a vidoe file (.mpg or .avi file, eg), how do I extract the audio of the video file out? I would like to be able to have the audio as a separate .mp3 or .wav file.

BTW, I am a total newbie so all important details would be appreciated

    Thanks

  2. Load the file into Goldwave and save the audio as PCM. Then use your fav MP3 program to convert the PCM audio to wav. Goldwave may even be able to save to MP3 direct, but I am in work so can't test to see.

Also, the PCM output will be a .wav file by default

    Open your avi in vdub.
Under audio choose "Full Processing Mode"
    Under File choose save wav.
