Hi,
I have an Optorite DD0405 8x4x12 DVD+/-RW drive and it burns CD's at an advertised 40x24x40 speed. However, in Alcohol and Nero I can't get the speeds past 16x on any of my CDs. All of my CD's are different brands, Optimum, imation, and memorex. All say 48x speed CD-R's. This burner shows as 40x max burn on alcohol and nero and its device settings.
Anyone help me out here?
Thanks
Tyler
*EDIT*
Nero says it can only write at 16x because the speed of the source data is too low. Does this mean the data from comp or from the blank? Thanks.

it means your computer (test hd speeds from within nero) cant send data quick enough to your burner.
This happens when you got a slow hd, or it is heavily fragged. Run defrag and then run Nero's built-in hd speed checking.
