  1. Hi,
New into DVD.Are there authoring/encoding(a/v separetly)/editing/burning(support image file >2G/4G) tools that overcome the 2/4G limitation?Or is it time to jump over to XP/2k?Use Vdub with frameserver,TmpgEnc/Mainconcept Enc(can split encoded file to 4G),cooledit2k,HeadAc3he for VCD in win98se.Any threads/guides(techniques to circumvent 2G/4G limitation)? Can authoring tools accept split files(2G) and work on them as a single joint file?(i see that VTS_01_1.VOB ,_02,etc. have 1G limit).Thanks.edsin333@yahoo.co.in

Well, not to be a dick but first off use proper punctuation, it would make that a hell of a lot easier to read. The spacebar is your friend :P

I suggest using XP if the FAT32 file size is gunna restrict you or make things more difficult. I could never imagine using FAT32 even just with doing DVD backups, and I haven't even really gotten into the capturing aspect yet. Once you have the NTFS file system it will make life a lot easier for you.

That's the NEW style. Write a post that is barely readable and people will feel sorry for you.

Can you do useful captures with 450Mhz processor. and Win98 SE?

  5. Its about time to upgrade PC and while youre at it get a new keyboard also, one with a BIG spacebar! I have a K6-2 500 pc, booted it up some weeks ago, i had forgotten how slow they are. I wouldnt use it to encode even with CCE, and you are talking about Tmpgenc on a 450! Win98se isnt stable enough to keep that PC running untill you are finished encoding anyway Maybe with XP, i know my old K6-2 is amazingly stable with XP. The advantages of NTFS filesystem is VERY big when working with video.
