I am trying to get an AVI file, DivX format to burn onto a DVD. When using Ulead Movie3.. the 1.5hr/730MB file, Ulead says it requires 5.4GB.

How to shrink/encode so it'll fit/burn onto a regular DVD?

I went to www.videohelp.com and found a tutorial about it at(https://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?link=452).

I got to step 6 where CinemaCraft encoder software is to open an AVS script file created in step 5--but the CCE SP software will not allow me to open an AVS file (as was shown in the tutuorial). The tutorial also says that MediaPlayer should be able to open/play the script file. That didn't work either.

I downloaded GSpot, TMGEnc, AVS Script program, CCE SP, VirtualDub, fitCD, and the videoCalculator tools. After several attempts and hours I am puzzled what to do next.

The CCE software only shows movie files when I do the 'right-click'-Add step. If I change to all file types (*.*) and load the .AVS script file created in step 5, it says 'error: unknown format'. The tutorial mentions that TMGEnc can be used instead of CCE, but since I'm newbie, I really have no idea what/how to substitute use of this software in the tutorial instead of CCE.

Any help/pointers or alternate tutorials/methods would be greatly appreciated...

I''m running Win2K on an XP2200 and have installed all of the SW referenced in the tutorial.

You might want to post your Avisynth script. One of the Avisynth experts(not I ) should be able to help.

Sounds like the installiation of AviSynth is somehow corrupt. Even if your script is wrong, at least some error message ought to show in Media Player.
