Internet problem...

Alright...I setup my PC...went online, no problem. Got a virus, got rid of it, hooked up my router. Installed all the updates from windows.com. Now, everytime I come turn on my PC, it shows me as being online BUT I can't access any pages.


EDIT. Lost the pic...sorry...anyway, my icon in the corner shows up as if I am online. But it will not access any pages. THEN, I use a small app called Anonymous Web Surfing, which hooks you through a PROXY or something like that...and then I can surf. Turn it off...and I can continue to surf. Its almost like that app is bridging the gap. Any ideas!?

you usng an ADSL/cable modem? try discooneting it from your PC, boot your pc and then shut down.

reconnect the modem and boot again. sounds like windows is just being stupid.

If you can't get a connection back, call your ISP. It is very possible they shut down your connection because you were sending virus traffic out.

i think the small anonymous app is messing everything up if you can surf when its on, but not when its off. uninstall that crap.

The anonymous thing never fucked things up before...and it doesn't come up automatically...I have to start it up. Anyway, I did the whole shut down thing, and unplugged everything, started up again...nothing...went into the network settings...did something I don't remember and all of a sudden BOOM I am online again...WTF
