  1. I downloaded the latest version (and actually just downloaded it again) and when I run the program I get the install screen with yuvtools/vcdimager highlighted in red. When I click install, it asks for my login password (in clear, which might not be the best choice), I enter the password and I get the following:

    The installation was not successful.
    ##sudo: gnutar: command not found

I looked through the forum, etc., but I see no mention of this. I can get around it by deselecting yuvtools/vcdimager and clicking install, but then I keep getting the self-installer page.

  2. You're probably running OSX 10.2, which could miss the gnutar command (a sort of Stuffit Expander) required for installing. Possibly it is installed with developer tools. I'll look into this quickly to set a fix.

Well I cant seem to edit my last post to fix the image so here is a c&p of the error message:

##rcmd: getaddrinfo: No address associated with nodename
tar (child): /Applications/A\:V/ffmpegX/ffmpegX.app/Contents/Resources/ogg.tgz: Cannot open: (null)
tar (child): Error is not recoverable: exiting now

gzip: stdin: unexpected end of file
    gnutar: Child returned status 2
gnutar: Error exit delayed from previous errors

Man editing in this forum is terrible

This is while trying to install:

    libogg/libvorbis/DLCompat
    libmp3lame
    goct/subtitles
    yuvyools/vcdimager
    pbpaste

Ive unchecked them and tried to continue with no avail.

  6. I'll add a fix into next version, to handle the case of a missing gnutar command.

For now, I suggest this workaround:

    1/ Install 0.0.9h available from http://homepage.mac.com/major4/ffmpegX_0.0.9h.dmg

    2/ Switch immediately to 0.0.9i
