  1. When creating new DVD encoded with TMPGEnc, from AVI files, and authored with any kind of DVD Author program (TMPG; Ifo Edit;...), I usually find a strange thing in the quality of the resulting film image. It seems that the frames repeat themselves (two by two, or three by three), and what should be a soft transition looks like a step by step film. The encoding template has everithing OK (25fps, PAL, CBR...)
The original, previewed with WMP seems perfect, so I think it must be an author/encoding problem.

    Any suggestion?
    Thanks

Authoring and encoding are of course 2 completely seperate steps.

If your original AVI was ok and the encoded Mpeg was jerky , I would suggest that you are trying to convert a NTSC file to PAL. That will result in jerky playback.
