    Hey everyone,

This is my first question here, so I hope I will explain everything well.

I sometimes come across flash animations online that I really like, so I save them to my hard drive. Lately though, I have gotten to thinking that it would be cool if I could edit them into some of my own movies or something. I have Flash MX 2004 installed on my system so whenever I want to make a animation to bring into Premiere I just export as AVI and import it that way. Flash (as to my understanding), will not convert SWF to AVI if you open up the SWF. It will only play it and you can't change anything (probably so you don't steal things from the flash animation). Anyways, I know of the Flashants SWF Plug-in for Premiere and SWF2Video but those are expensive and I do not really want to pay too much money. Also, I know there are other swf converters out there but I really don't want to have to convert anything - I just want to import straight into flash.

If anyone knows of any free/cheap (less than $50) programs/plug-ins that will do the job, please respond. Also, if conversion is the only free/cheap way to import them, please give me the link to the program.

Also, I have tried swf2avi from Pizzinini.net and Magic swf converter, and I don't really like them too much. They take too much work to convert the files, and I would really just like an easy solution.

    Thanks!

  3. In Flash MX, create a new project and use Import (Ctrl+R) to import SWF. Change whatever you want, such as dimensions. Then Export (Ctrl+Alt+Shift+S) it to AVI.

Of course, the original SWF may be password-protected.
