This is coming from someone who lives in Sin City and was sporting the Sniper Kitty avatar? :P

Indoor voice. I prefer not to use 'ooh' and 'aah' on this forum. Other men less fortunate that myself tend to get pissed off about it...

Here's an old (and the best I could find) picture of myself.
    His name was MackemX

What kind of a man are you? The guy is unconscious in a coma and you don't have the guts to kiss his girlfriend?

Yeah they do..... But unfortunately that range closed down
Sucks because I knew almost everyone who worked there and I barely ever paid.....

I had my ear plugs in, but I wasn't wearing eye protection at that time. I was zeroing in my scope.

Ever have your plugs/muffs come off at indoor range when it's packed

I have those in-ear ones that quickly shut off for reports, but let you talk normally. Once I got set up next to this ******* who was sighting in his .458 Winchester Magnum. The earplugs didn't help much and I still felt the shockwave three hours later when I was cleaning my guns The only thing worse I can imagine would be a .50 Barrett

I'm sure I've caused some pain myself. Once I was working up some loads - .44 mag, using 31 gr. of H110 with a 180 grain bullet. About 1500 ft-lbs, and a real flamethrower round . The guy next to me got up and left after about 5 rounds

Sorry I tend to ramble a bit when I'm talking with a fellow shooter.

    I'll translate: .44 magnum ....Dirty Harry's caliber
31 grains of H110 - A slow-burning powder and a whole lot of it Picked for the fireball it would generate in upcoming night pictures
180 grain bullet- Typical bullet for a .44 mag is 240 grains, so this is a very light, very fast bullet with that much powder.
    1500 foot-pounds - Compare it to .38 special (200), 9mm (~350), standard factory .44 mag (~900 - 1,000) .45 ACP (~350), .41 magnum (~700), 10mm (~700), and .357 magnum (~525), this is enough muzzle energy to stop a speeding Rolls Royce

We took the night pics. The gun - .44 Magnum Desert Eagle. My friend held the shutter open, fired the flash to expose the foreground detail, and then I fired the gun to get the fireball.

    And the result -

    Couldn't resist, Indo

1500 is no kid's gun, I've seen men split their face open shooting a 44 with standard loads.

(Well, actually, everybody who works here owns guns, so I'm sure they'll get a kick out of this one!)

I was at the range one time and another guy there had a .454 Casull. The ammo it shoots is basically a .45 Long Colt case that's been magnumized with a thicker wall and a rifle primer to handle the pressure.

This guy had some rip-roaring, ass-clenching recoil-junkie-loving loads with 38 grains of H110 and a 340 grain bullet. Muzzle energy was right around 2,000 ft.-lbs! He had a Simmons scope on it and even with the added weight it almost kissed my forehead on every one of the 5 rounds I fired. Probably because it was a revolver and the bullet axis was farther up from my hand than my DE. Afterwards, my right hand felt like I had caught a baseball bat mid-swing That's the liveliest hand-cannon I'd ever care to shoot

Thanks. My buddy John gets the credit for knowing his shit about photography. Even so, most of the pics of me, and of him shooting his Desert Eagle, were underexposed to the point that the fireball wasn't nearly as impressive. John bracketed the shots and this one here was the best one of the lot

The only 44's I've ever shot were revolvers and I think you may be right about the height of the bullet with respect to your hand. I know the first 44 I shot I had to dodge the recoil...those guns are not designed for rapid fire accuracy are they They are designed for take your time, shoot whatever it is once and you won't have to shoot it again.

  29. That's another nice addition to your signature, northcat!

The biggest gun I have is a .22 air rifle. I don't know what the rules surrounding firearms are in the UK, but I think they must be dead strict compared to the USA. Seeing a gun here is rare indeed.
