  1. Hi all,

I am compiling a DVD with multiple vids on, but they are a mismatch of framerates - I have 23.976, 25, and 29.97. I'm sure I read somewhere that I can't have multiple fps on the same DVD - is this true?

I'm having a bit of trouble converting the .wav of the 23.976 one to a .ac3 at 25fps, so I would like to make sure this is necessary before I tear my hair out looking for a solution.

Thanks for any help in advance

  2. You can have different on different tracks, so if you dvd authoring proggy support multipple titles it should be ok. The 23.976 is not supported by DVD, run it through pulldown.exe to fix it, it doesnt take long and the audio does not need to be changed.

  3. Thanks for that, its a relief not having to convert so much

Can I also ask: by this process, should I just convert my AVI to MPEG then use Pulldown without demuxing the streams? I use TMPGEnc.

  4. There is a 3:2 pulldown option in tmpgenc, use that one instead then. The result is the same, 1 step less to worry about.

You can not mix ntsc(23,976,29,97) and pal(25) though. Well you can but it isn't supported by the dvd stanard.

  6. Thats right, you shouldnt, but i heard of athoring proggies that will do it (i think). Never made one myself, but read posts about it, i hope that information was correct. I know TDA will refuse to author a mixed PAL/NTSC (that i did try). They will kinda get their own ifo files if they are separate titles, so i cant see why it should be impossible. I get back to you if i find the thread where i read about it. What do you use for authoring? Maybe someone can tell you in advcance if it will accept both systems on 1 disk.

  7. Update: I did a small test to a DVD+RW using DVDauthorGui, it put both titles in same VOB, so there were only one IFO file. Played just fine in my Xbox anyway, both the NTSC and the PAL title. So it is possible and it works, but if its a good thing to do, maybe not
