  1. Hi!

Im trying to rip my first DVD movie but i have got a problem i hope someone will help me with.
I have ripped the movie and the sound and do now have 5 1gb files and 1 sound file (1,3gb).
    I have also made a .d2v file.
The problem is that TMPGEnc wont open it. I get the message that it cant be opened or is'nt supported.
I have downloaded the VFAPI plugin!

Im using Sefy's DVD to VCD/SVCD (or variants) Conversion Guide v1.2 - http://www.vcdhelp.com/dvdtovcd.htm

  2. heres what u do:
    install vfapi plugin

copy the DVD2AVI.vfp in the TMPGEnc directory u put it in

and do not delete or move the vobs the d2v file is only a guide to show TMPGEnc where the vobs are and TMPGEnc encodes the vobs threw the d2v file.

    this should help

  5. when you rip the dvd and encode the dat file tmpgenc only handles the dvd2avi_174 program. the newer ones don't work with tmpgenc had same problem but with 174 no problem also if you want to fit it on 1 cd just cut the bitrate too 700 in tmpgenc no quality loss

  7. here is what you do rip the dvd with smartripper 2.36 then use dvd2avi_174 then open your vobs and select one and then use save project option and name your lile and about 30 to 40 minutes you'll have a dat file and save the dat file where you vobs are and you'll have a audio file..then open tmpgenc and select the dat file for video and select the audio for the audio then make all your settings vcd is 352x240 video with4:35ntsc and audio should be 44100 224 kbps. if your using the new tmpgenc select under advanced the no margin option.you also have to select$:35 under advanced. if you want to put it on 2 discs leave the bit rate alone if you cut it back to 700 you can fit it on one disc with no quality lost.

Copying only the VFapi file in TMPGEnc only is not enough. Go to your TMPGEnc file and find: "TMPGEncVFP_install". Now double click on it to install the plugin.
Now open TMPGEnc, go to "option", "enviromental settings", "VFAPI plugin" and check if "D2VAVI project file is supported".If yes, then Close TMPGEnc.
Open DVD2AVI, go to "help" and check if "VFAPI" is marked. If this all is done, you should have no problems anymore.

  9. Or you can try recreating the D2V/WAV files using the Force Film option, i've heard from people on the forum that sometimes fixes the problem.
