i use my dvd player for kvcd and the thing start choking if there is too much action going on, its some kind of cybex. has anyone had this sort of problem with a cheapo dvd player and found a solution

It sounds like the higher bitrate needed for the high action scenes might be going past what the player is capable. Since this is not a spec VCD, try lowering the max bitrate.

Since you are trying to play KVCD's, which are completely outside of any sort of VCD standard, there's really no guarantee that a given DVD player will be able to play it....unless you take one of your discs and test it. Take a disc down to your local "Big Electronic's Bargain Bin" and do some testing. Happy hunting.
