I have an VCD that has some pixelations and blocks during play. When I play it when it "hits" comes to pixelations and blocks it caused the vid to hang up. I tried to import it into TMPEnc for re-encoding but TMPEnc came up with "File cannot open or unsupported" message. Trying with VirtualDub got the folowing messge: "Mpeg import filter: packet sync error on packet stream . Can this be fixed? Picture quality is perfect it just hangs up everytime with the few "blocks" and "pixelations"

sounds like you have a bad file. get the source file and remake the vcd.
-
no shot at getting the source file. Isnt there some way just to cut out the "bad parts"

I think,therefore i am a hamster.

so just use vcdeasy or isobuster extract the mpeg, than reburn or edit with Virtual Dub or TMPEG. May be a dumb ? sorry guys its 2a.m. here

You can make your cuts with TMPGEnc using Merge & Cut in MPEG Tools. If you use Virtualdub you'll have to save as avi.

ok extracted using isobuster but TMPEG still will not take it also when I try to use Virtual Dub it is giving me the same error message. Completely stumped!

Run it through VCDGear with "fix mpeg" enabled.
