  1. I have about 25 videos of horse races, all in mpg format, all captured in streaming format from the web, and all very low res. If I burn them to a DVD it plays them full screen and they are very grainy.

Is there any way to set up the DVD to play the video in say, the upper right hand corner of the screen, taking up about 2/3rds of the total screen, leaving the left side and entire bottom for text such as the horse's name, date of the race, jockey, etc? I'll play with the "window" size till it looks acceptable on the TV.

Ideas? Know of a software package that can do this?

    Thanks

The only way to do this and be certain it would work would be to overlay the video on a fullscreen black background so it appears with large black borders all the way around. You should be able to do this is an any good editing program (Vegas, Premiere etc.) or compositor (After Effects, Combustion, Fusion etc.). This way you can be sure it will work on an TV.

If you use a compositor, you can also add the text at the same time, and add some fancy graphics to spruce it up a bit.

In TMPGEnc you can use Center (keep aspect ratio) so that the video doesn't get enlarged, or Center (custom size) to make it any size you want.
