I am trying to re author a DVD-R with new menus and make an MPEG2 file for each programme I have on a DVD-R Disc. So far I have used DVDDecrypter to rip and get 1 big VOB file, but I need to know what I can use to split this vob file into 4 sections??

I'm not sure if I need to demux first, but I certainly need to change it to MPEG2 then split it into a number of different programmes before re-authoring.

Womble MPEG VCR. You can find a guide for editing on the download page.

Is the big difference with womble the speed??

I was hoping to do this with freeware as someone mentioned the MPEG tools in TMPGEnc encoder could demux the VOB, then I can remux the streams as an MPEG, but I guess this might take long to do.

you can use vob merge, rename your file to an mpeg and then use the cutting feature in tmpgenc.
