In Toast 6.x, the QT export plugin is gone. You now just drag your QT movies onto Toast's main window when in Video/Video CD mode.

You don't. I mean, you could locate the export plugin for Toast 5.x and install that, but it's much lower quality and slower than the new one. Stick with the encoder built into Toast 6.x.

  6. Just save the vcds as images. Rename the .toast extension as .bin and extract the mpeg with VCDTools or VCDGear.

You can use ffmpegX or something... It will be faster and better quality than the Toast 5 mpg encoder. You can just choose to export to QuickTime/Expert Settings.../Movie, self-contained from iMovie.

MMT-EZ might be what you're after too. I think its main purpose is iMovie -> SVCD but it will do VCD and other formats too. It's much simpler than ffmpegx.
