I have tried just about everything I can think of and can not get audio with a motion menu. I can do it in DVDlab but want to do it in Author. I have authored a bunch of various DVD's and have never gotten audio in the menu. I have tried converting it to AC3, used mpeg1 layer 2, and PCM (wav). I am on a dual AMD 1800mp tyan running WIN 2000 pro. Any ideas?

    thanks, glenn

    Have you checked this box

It looks like you have to have a background video to have menu sound

  4. Your menu background video must have muxed audio. Elementary streams (separate video/audio) will not work.

Muxing your video and audio clips should solve your problem.

I am not getting any sound when i play the videos in tmpegauthor since i updated the sb live drivers. I think the sound is there when i have finished burning and playing on the dvd player. Its only when i actually author the videos that i cant hear the sound. Creative is pain in the a$$

To the reply that told me to use muxed video/audio... I want to say thank you! I have not tried it yet, but I am sure that is the answer. I always use elementary streams because it seems to be faster that way overall. I use DVD-lab only once in a while, and am hoping that future upgrades give some pro features. Author seems to give me what I need... stability!

Thanks again. I'll try it tonight.

I just make my motion menus with sound and video in the same MPEG-2 file instead of demuxing it.
