I was wondering, I want to encode a file into xvid, using 2 pass, and do different bit rate to check out the image quality differences.
Can I do the 1st pass once, and just use it to run the 2nd pass multiple times, changing just the target bitrate? What kind of information is recorded in the 1st pass anyway?
Thanks.

As long as you still have the video.pass file you can run as many second passes as you want.
