Yea...24 I live 35 miles from the phone company, I have a 56K modem but never connect at better than 26.4 bps.
I live so far out in the ******* sticks that I can't get roadrunner or DSL...I can get DirectWay through directTV and when I called them up I argued with the salesman a little about $99 a month just for the broadband...and he finally said "Well sir, Directway is for the people who cannot get the others." so I say "So basically you guys are over charging people because they don't have anyother choice?" and he said "that is how supply and demand works." To which I replied "Wow what a witty response...how about this...how about you cancel my ******* subscription to DirectTV and come and get your piece of trash dish that looses reception anytime it even thinks about raining." He hung up on me. So I had to call back and then I was irritated with that little bastard. Fuckers.

I pretty much had that same problem, and the same discussion. Could have been the same rep on the phone. I'm happy to say that I am now back on DSL, and after three days of fighting with SBC, have my full 3Mbps speed I signed up for. Now if I could just find teegee's list of porn sites......I could be like the guy in the commercial that says you've reach the end of the internet...there's no more to see.

directv is pretty assholish.. anytime you want to modify your plan or even call them they want you to make a 1 year commitment.. ********
