    This is rather annoying.

    80% of blank disks i put in my 1008M +/- DVDRW start up windows media player due to a media file being present. It then tells me it cannot read the file. Why is this? When i check the discs on the other DVD player theyre nothing on them. Ive updated my firmware from www.dvrupdate.com, and its the same with several different media.
    I can still use Nero and Alcohol ok.

    Also I got the writer from PC world when they were doing a deal. But what is strange is the fact that i cannot find the name of the manufacturer. Does anyone know who makes this model and if its had good or bad reviews.

    There is nothing there. Fix windows to not autolaunch. They are blank if they are blank.
