    hey everyone...quick question i got 4x blanks but nero only lets me record them at 2x? why....

    do i need firmware update? and if so where can iget one?

    Could be the firmware, could be the media, could be that that's just the way it goes sometimes. Check your drive manufacturer's website for a firmware update. Might be a good idea to see if you can find some feedback from other users regarding new firmware, cuz the latest don't always mean the greatest...

    A note here: just because the packaging boldly claims that it is 4X media, don't believe it. I've seen a lot of no-name media in this country that claims to be writeable at this speed, yet DVDDecrypter throws a major fit whenever I try to burn it at 4X. And these cheap, knock-off manufacturers wonder why I don't mind paying twice as much for TDKs or Verbatims?

  6. This is one topic you can search for, must be 500 topics on this, plus you didn't give your system specs so we don't know anything about what you have. Just read the media topic on left column, its huge, also that dvd writer topic too, youll be all set.
