Yep as has been said already, too many annoying idiots talking, with their mobile phones ringing and bags of individually wrapped sweets. Plus the fact that there is almost no 'experience' going to the multiplex cinemas compared to the old picture houses. One time at the Corner House in Manchester I went and found the projectionist and asked him to come and focus the projector. He was lacing up something somewhere else and the film had been out of focus for at least ten minutes.
Last film I saw was The Truman Show a few years ago.

Saw Kill Bill Vol. 2 last week.
It was nice, there were only 3 other people in the theater I went to, and they were all quiet.
Excellent movie too. -
It's not been mentioned yet , sitting in comfort.
I'm 6ft 4in and I don't think multiplex cinemas were built with tall people in mind. It's not enjoyable sat for 2 hours or so with your knees pressed hard against the seat in front.
When we had local cinemas and you could sit in a chair like an armchair it was a great experience going to watch a film but not any more.
Sad to have seen all the local cinemas go , this is progress I guess. -
Last flick I saw was Kill Bill Volume II the weekend it premiered. Great movie. Can't wait for the DVD.

I can't wait for the new Harry Potter movie. It looks very entertaining.
-
I might go see The Day After Tomorrow when it releases. I already know I'm going to see the Garfield movie with my wife. She likes Garfield.
A lot. -
Last movie I saw at the theatre was Planet of the Apes- because I'm a big Tim Burton fan.
I really have to want to see a movie badly to got the theatre. It's horrible. The seats are uncomfortable with no elbow room, there's always some idiots talking over the film, In the winter it's too hot and in the summer it's too cold. You can't go to the bathroom without missing part of the the movie, the refreshments are overpriced to the point of insanity-it's not the price, it's the matter of principal. If that's not enough, they let little children roam the aisles begging for money for one charity or another.
I'd much rather buy or rent the film and watch it in the COMFORT of my own home- sitting on my couch in front of my high def widescreen tv in my underwear eating a pizza.
I've got tons of movies that I've bought and haven't even unwrapped yet. so I'm no hurry to see new ones. I can wait the six months for the DVD.
By the way, I think my mother has all of you beat. The last time she went to a theatre was to bring my older brother to see E.T. (the original -

I haven't been able to watch a movie since seeing that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez movie. But, my therapist thinks with a lot of intense treatment, I'll be able to watch a movie again in six months.

I still regret paying to see HULK, my last theatre movie.

We have a small theatre that shows only idependant flix. That never happened there. But Hoyt's (the only other theater in town) allowed it regularly.
I remeber making my first trip to New York. I wasn't off the bus more than 5 minutes before I had people begging me for money. I don't really mind that. But in a theater where you expect to be comfortable, it's a bit annoying to be cornered by these kids. -
Last movie I saw in theaters was Punch Drunk Love. That was more than a year ago. I don't like to watch movies especially not in theaters.
-
1-2 months. My problem is I sit there and mentally calculate how many media blanks I could have bought for the price of two tickets and popcorn/drinks
-
Less than a week = 20%... I would love to see an age poll and compare to movies attended

Once a year on holloween, 3 of us guys (single) goes to see some crappy movie since we dont like answering door bells to give the rug rats candies....

Last movie I saw at the theatre was Jurassic Park 3 But then I will be going soon I want to see the Day after tommorrow on a big screen first and after that will be Jurassic Park 4
There are not that many movies I am willing to pay theater prices to see -
Jurassic park 3? I even missed #2. After the first one i would never spend a dime watchin 2, 3 and 4. "Think of it as a big cow"? How stupid can a movie get? Reminds me of the Taken #5, the girl and the dolphins. It just doesnt get worse. Both are Spielberg, not a coincidence.
-
I love scifi, i just wish Spielberg would be kept out of it. Imagine Babylon5 with Spielberg, the Vorlons are the dolphins and the Shadows are Japanese, the Minbari should be something like Birgitte Bardot?

took 3 year old niece to her first "theater movie" last weekend...Shreck 2
good flick...
last movie before that kinda made me never want to go to theater again: Death to Smoochy
only movie I ever walked out on in the first 20 minutes (surprised I lasted that long...) kept figuring "this has to get better...it has Robin Williams... -
bout 18 years ago. Took my 2 young daughters to see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I vowed never to go to the flicks again!

So that would have been about 14 years ago not 18 years :P
Still though if you haven't been in a movie theatre for 14 years ... well that's pretty impressive ... or sad ... depending on which way you look at it I guess.

I absolutely love movies, if I don't go at least once a week I suffer withdrawl symptoms. Give me the cinema over home viewing anytime, and I do like watching movies at home.
It's a good job my local UGC cinema has an unlimited pass for £9.99 per month otherwise I'd be very poor.
Last movie I saw was Troy, huge budget, huge sets but jeez was it boring, thank christ there won't be a sequel; but then again...Wrap the tape firmly around the hamster... -
1985. Rambo - First Blood Part 2. No wonder Jack's complaining that he's losing profits!
You can bet if I ever set foot in a theatre again, it will be to take my kid to Care Bears: The Eighteenth Sequel or some other BS movie she just HAS to see! -

going to see the original Japanese cut of Godzilla in about 45 minutes.

I saw SPIDERMAN 2 this past Tuesday night at MIDNIGHT since the actual first day was to be Wed.
So you would expect good quality right? I mean you can't get a much "fresher" print than that!
Well ...
1.) The screen was very dark. Bulb not bright enough.
2.) Didn't sound surround sound but MAYBE it was
3.) Even if it was surround sound the sound was TERRIBLE with lots of distortion etc.
Same thing happened the last time I saw a movie at that same theatre (about 4 years ago I'm guessing).
I swore it off then but was with friends and they didn't listen to me.
None of use are EVER going back to that theatre again!

P.S.
SPIDERMAN 2 kicks major ass but then again I loved THE HULK movie so what do I know :P"The eyes are the first thing that you have to destroy ... because they have seen too many bad things" - Lucio Fulci
