    anyone know what is the best codec pack i should use? or should I not use a codec pack all together? if i shouldnt use a codec pack, where would i get individual codecs that i need?

    There is no such thing as a good codec pack , get codecs as and when you need them you will find that you won't need many.
    They can all be found in the tools section on the left under codecs.

    If you have a file and it won't play , use GSpot or AVICodec to tell you what the codecs are that you need to play that particular file.
    If you haven't got the codec it will tell you. If you have it will also tell you.

    You are going to get different answers. Some people use codec packs, some do not. I use the kazaa lite codec pack. I used to use nimo codec pack. If you are just going to be decoding, you might just need a couple of codecs.

  4. Codec packs are more trouble than there worth, download the codecs as and when you need them.

    I stay away from codec packs. d/l and install a codec if needed. No problems so far.

    To be fair, guys, some codec packs are better than others. The best in my opinion is K-lite Codec Pack. Always choose a custom install and only install what you need! If you're unsure about a particular codec, you probably don't need it.
