I remember the forums having such a button and we need it back. i know its a lot of work for the moderators, as some folks will be submitting requests for posts that should stay.
but we need a way to alert the mods to posts that are blatant SPAM type solicitations that are repeated over and over and over...
And for some clearly wrong info for the topic/product discussed!

I'm not sure what you mean by a "delete this post" option for regular users, and I don't recall there ever being such an option in the past, but I think the current system already accomplishes exactly what you are talking about.
Look in the bottom right of every post. The "report this post" button allows you to leave a link and a message in a thread where all of us mods check regularly. If you report a rule violation there we will see it and handle the issue. -
