  1. Hi all,

I am curious if anyone has tried shrinking with DVDShrink, then process with DVDCopy 2? I realize this method may seem redundant; but due to the high compression rate, I am hoping to use Shrink to bring down the sizes of menus and extras, thus leaving most of the quality for the main movie. (Using Shrink alone will result in too much pixelations, where DVDCopy 2 seems to be able to compress better.)

Using DVDShrink 3.05 beta, I left the main movie uncompressed, and all the menus and extras compressed at 80%; although the movie came out fine, the DVDCopy 2 output had a lot of dropped frames-like problems in the (pre)shrunk area. Does anybody know if it was something I did incorrectly, or the two apps just aren't meant to work together?

Also, on an entirely different topic, does anybody know why DVDCopy 2 won't utilize the entire blank size of the disc? I tried backing up the same DVD two different ways -- once just straight ripping, once using DVDShrink first (as described above, so the two sources had different file sizes). Yet after using DVDCopy 2 both outputs were exactly the same -- 4.21GB instead of filling up the entire 4.35GB. Is there something I should tweak in the settings?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I would stick to one or the other in my opinion. I use Intervideo Dvd Copy 1.2 I would try to find a copy of it. Thats what I use all the time over 500+ movies with it.
