  1. hi , made some vcds with nero (no menu) but some small clips) they work fine on pc but on my mates new portable dvd from woollies a venturer pvs17200 it will no play, it is supposed to play vcds but no joy have i got to put a menu on cd?.
    aloso if i make a vcd with menu and nero it will not play unless i press previous on the remote, any ideas please.

    You might want to try making a VCD with VCDEasy instead. You can find a freeware version on this page. Somtimes the compatibility problem is caused by Nero. You should also not exclude the possibility that the problem is your friend's player, despite what the packaging says it is capable of.

  3. Does that DVD player support CD-Rs?

    Menus make no difference to the compatibility of VCDs with DVD players. I haven't ever put a menu on mine - they just play the film.

    As teegee420 has said, it could be caused by Nero. Try VCDEasy as he says, and see if that works.
